So, you have found an outdoor cat and want to know if you can encourage him to stay indoors?

Yes, you can! A cat should not be permitted to roam outside in the first place because there are so many hazards facing him. Cats really do not need to go out of the house just because they think they should.

Believe it or not, you can teach your cat to stay indoors.  Be sure the cat is fixed (of course, preferably by five months) but be sure to take him to the vet for a complete exam and get him altered. They are more likely to accept being indoors, if they are altered. Plenty of attention, nutritious food and plenty of water, and toys, toys, toys will make your cat want to stay indoors.  Work with your vet to teach your cat to be an indoor cat!

Cats are in need of advocates who will love and protect them. Can you be one?
