United Spay Alliance Announces New Program Director

AUSTIN, TX, MARCH 12, 2019  — United Spay Alliance’s board of directors announced that Cathy M. Rosenthal will succeed Bruce Myers as Program Director for the organization.

Cathy has worked for local and national humane organizations for more than 25 years and has a strong background in program development, conference planning, grant writing, education and public relation for animal shelters and spay/neuter groups. Through her years in the field, she has consulted with more than 100 spay-neuter clinics on marketing strategies to help motivate people to spay and neuter their pets.

Bruce Myers, departing Program Director, laid the groundwork over the past two years for a rebranded and reimagined United Spay Alliance. “Bruce has done some great work during his tenure with United Spay Alliance, including updating its mission statement, logo, and website, and implementing a communications strategy through social media, webinars, conferences, and email outreach,” says Esther Mechler, Board President for United Spay Alliance.

Bruce also represented the United Spay Alliance as the co-host for the South Region Spay Neuter Conference in Jackson, Mississippi, with Mississippi Spay and Neuter and Animal Advocacy Initiative of Mississippi. Behind the scenes, he worked with spay/neuter advocates nationwide.

Editor’s Note: United Spay Alliance is the nation’s only collaborative referral network of state programs for affordable spay/neuter services and education for the public. Our coalition of programs each has assembled, in their respective states, a network of veterinarians, clinics and programs providing affordable sterilization for cats and dogs as a solution to homeless pet crisis.  We empower our independent, nonprofit affiliates by providing them resources, networking and education to develop, strengthen, coordinate or deliver affordable spay/neuter in their communities to help end unnecessary euthanasia in their communities.
