United Spay Alliance Board Member and founder of Frankie’s Friends Humane – our Pennsylvania State Leader – Dr. Becky Morrow has been named the recipient of the 2026 AVMA Meritorious Service Award, and we couldn’t be more proud.
Dr. Morrow founded Frankie’s Friends Humane in New Kensington, Pennsylvania in 2010, growing it from a single surgical trailer into an established nonprofit performing thousands of spay/neuter surgeries each year. Her work centers on access to care, including free and low-cost services, mobile clinics in low-income communities, and advanced surgeries that help families avoid economic euthanasia.
But as the AVMA recognized, her impact extends well beyond her own surgical table. Through free HQHVSN workshops, she has trained hundreds of veterinarians, technicians, and students, including hands-on clinics in Australia and a four-day field clinic in Puerto Rico that delivered 324 surgeries while training more than 40 participants.
She is, in every sense, exactly the kind of person this network is built around. Congratulations, Dr. Morrow, this honor is richly deserved.
