Website TCforAP Texas Coalition for Animal Protection

High-Quality, Affordable Spay and Neuter Services

Texas Coalition for Animal Protection, a 501(c)3 Nonprofit Organization, seeks Contract Surgery Veterinarians to perform spay and neuters in one or more of our clinics throughout the DFW metroplex.  TCAP is a high-volume, high-quality spay and neuter and animal welfare organization that works to better the lives of companion animals and those who love them.

The surgeon performs 40-50 spay/neuters daily on shelter and public animals, as well as community cats, typically within a 6-8 hour work day, depending on the surgeon’s speed. The surgery schedule is built in partnership with the veterinarian and reflects their comfort and speed as they adjust to HVHQ spay/neuter. Our clinic team comprises a veterinarian, two skilled and experienced HVHQ spay/neuter veterinary technicians, a veterinary assistant, and a clinic manager. Veterinarians are contract employees, but TCAP’s administrative team oversees all other staff. TCAP has 8 locations in the DFW metroplex.

Flexible schedule, no on-call shifts, no nights or weekends, limited interaction with clients, and no staff management.  Open to a shared position between two veterinarians with part-time hours.

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

Sterilize pets in a high-volume setting
Provide oversight to veterinary assistants and technicians
Examine patients who arrive for surgical rechecks and make recommendations for treatment or provide necessary care

Experience performing high volume, high-quality spay/neuter surgeries preferred, but not required for the right candidate
Maintain an active TX state veterinary license and PLIT coverage. Be in good standing, including necessary continuing education requirements.
A current DEA license may be required.

Our Organization:
TCAP was established in 2002 to provide an affordable way to spay and neuter pets. Since that time, TCAP has opened eight storefront clinics. We’ve also added various services, including low-cost vaccines, microchipping, heartworm testing and prevention, and dental cleanings. TCAP’s standard prices are, on average, 70% less than what traditional veterinary clinics charge.

TCAP employs experienced and caring veterinary assistants and technicians who work alongside and support our veterinary team during our surgery clinics. Our compassionate employees and our amazing shelter and rescue partners throughout North Texas help us in the fight against euthanasia throughout DFW.

All interested candidates are requested to submit their resume.
