We are so excited that you may want to start a program in your state! Starting a program can mean different things; it could be a small rescue offering vouchers to local vets, or it could mean starting a spay/neuter clinic.
We encourage you to reach out to your state leader or to contact the United Spay Alliance for more information on how you can become an affiliate program of our organization to help us end the euthanasia of companion animals by promoting and providing resources to your community. Becoming an affiliate program means that you believe in the mission and core values of the United Spay Alliance and want to create a more humane community for companion animals.
The United Spay Alliance can provide you with:
• Marketing help
• Grant-writing assistance
• Yearly retreats to network with other partners in your region and build a community-wide coalition.
For more information or to apply for an affiliate program or state program, submit a request through the Contact page.
Below are some resources to also help you in your efforts.
Start a clinic
For organizations that have more than 250,000 people in their community and are looking to start a spay/neuter clinic with a minimum goal of 5,000 surgeries per year, see: www.humanealliance.org
For organizations that are rural, Indian reservations, and high-poverty areas: we suggest starting with gathering more information on models that would fit your area by going to www.spayfirst.org/programs/remote-area-programs/
For mobile clinics, or to find out about what might work better in your community, see: www.aspcapro.org/topics/spayneuter
